Greenmount’s blooming!

THE local community gathered at the green at the front of the shops at Greenmount Avenue, Coleraine last Monday to plant shrubs in the planting boxes, under the guidance of Conservation Volunteers and Coleraine Borough Council.

The project was organised by Greenmount Residents Association in collaboration with local statutory agencies including Community Policing, Roads Service, Coleraine Borough Council, Conservation Volunteers, CRUN, Britain in Bloom and Richard Henderson from Henderson’s Spar.

The Residents Association is hoping that this project will be successful in the Britain in Bloom competition when judging takes place on Friday, August 12.

Tracy Craig, Chair of the Association, was very pleased with the turn out and hopes that further community events will take place in the coming months.

A meeting is being held on Monday, September 12 to discuss the community plan and ways in which the community can move forward together.

Further details will follow and will also be on the Community Notice Board at the Spar in Greenmount or watch this space for further details.
