Kids invited to wildlife crime scene

Rachel Bain, Biodiversity officer at Coleraine Borough Council has teamed up with CBBCs ‘Live and Deadly’ children’s show for a fun filled mystery afternoon at Riverside Park, Ballymoney, on Saturday, December 10 from 12 noon until 2pm.

But this tranquil setting has been disturbed; a crime committed; and help is urgently needed to solve the ‘wildlife crime scene’ and deduce ‘who’s eaten who’!

‘Live ‘n’ Deadly’ is CBBC’s wildlife and adventure show for kids, fronted by Steve Backshall and Naomi Wilkinson. Local councils are supporting their mission is to get kids from 6-14 years outside and closer to local wildlife.

Rachel explains: “This Deadly Scene Investigation event presents families with a ‘wildlife crime scene’ hidden in the park. Each child is given a free Deadly Detective booklet, before exploring the park in search of clues to solve the crime. There will also be small prizes for all participants.”

The start of the detectives’ investigation will be at the main entrance to Riverside Park, at Armour Avenue. Rachel advises everyone attending to wear suitable footwear and clothing and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
