Meeting to discuss future of former rail station

A MEETING with a view to revamping Londonderry’s former railway station to its former glory and pratcical use once again will take place on May 28 it can be revealed.

DUP MLA William Hay and a wide ranging delegation of interested parties are to meet with transport supremo Danny Kennedy and representatives of Translink to discuss the future of the old building.

Mr Hay told the Sentinel he believes that the Department of Regional Development and Translink have a great opportunity to revitalise the railway building into a working station again whilst preserving one of the few truly historic buildings remaining in the Waterside and Londonderry as a whole.
