Large tracts of the land remain under water as the water table remains high. The low lands have also suffered from the run off of water from the hills further inland produced by the large volume of rain, and the forecast this week is for even more rainfall making it highly unlikely that the low-lying land will drain into Lough Foyle.

Sentinel reporter Olga Bradshaw recorded some video material of the sodden land during a train journey on Saturday afternoon.
