The Gobbins cliff path: council warning over ‘potentially fraudulent’ website

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has issued a warning over a “potentially fraudulent” website for The Gobbins Cliff Path.

The local authority said the site is a clone of the official website, which handles bookings for the coastal attraction in Islandmagee.

"Please ensure when booking tickets that the URL is exactly ‘thegobbinscliffpath.com’ - any other variation is not the official website,” a council spokesperson said.

"If you encounter a site which is impersonating The Gobbins website, please report this to reportfraud.police.uk/.”

About The Gobbins

Originally built at the turn of the 20th century and opened in 1902, the path was the brainchild of Co Wexford-born engineer Berkeley Deane Wise.

The 1.2 mile coastal attraction features a series of bridges - including the showpiece tubular bridge – linking with rugged steps and pathways to cut their way round the base of the cliffs.

The path reopened to visitors in March 2026 following a period of essential closure in the aftermath of storm damage.
