Environmental scheme onto next stage

A Causeway Coast and Glens Council committee has agreed to proceed with the second phase of the Portstewart Environmental Scheme.

The decision was taken at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Leisure and Development Committee.

Part one of the scheme was to hold two public consultations in April to gauge public opinion on the project.

The second part of the scheme requires planning permission to be submitted this month. Four zones of Portstewart have been highlighted for improvement - the Harbour Hill, the Diamond, the Promenade and the entrance to the Crescent. Lighting, railings, paving and surfaces will all be included in the project. It was agreed to proceed with the next stage of the scheme.
