Essential work on sewers set to begin

NI Water has announced that it will be carrying out essential improvements to the sewerage infrastructure in the Blackcave area of Larne from November 28 for approximately 28 weeks.

This includes work on Upper Cairncastle Road (commencing November 28 for 16 weeks) and Old Glenarm Road (commencing December 5 for 26 weeks). The purpose of this work is to replace the existing sewers and improve the overall infrastructure. The work will also reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding.

NI Water said that, as with all work of this nature, there will be an element of disruption and traffic management and relevant signage will be in place. Short lane closures with traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the works.
