EU funds sought for Waterside trails

DERRY City Council has applied for EU money to develop a range of heritage trails and access related projects in the Waterside and rural County Londonderry.

Officers have submitted a joint application through the North West Cross Border Group to INTERREG under the theme of recreation and visitor trails.

The Faughan Valley Heritage Trail, the Connect 2 Waterside Greenway, the Ulster Way Link (Loughermore to Ervey) and the Foyle Canoe Trail are the projects which have been put forward.

The Council has also applied to ARC Northwest for funding for the Eglinton Village Trail, the Park Village Biodiversity Trail, the Enagh Lough Access Feasibility Study and the Orienteering Provision Feasibility Study.
