Evelyne for Mayor?

BALLYMONEY Borough Council could have its first lady Mayor in a quarter of a century.

The Times understands that the present leader of the DUP bloc on the council, Evelyne Robinson, is a strong candidate for the position of the Borough’s first citizen at the annual meeting on Tuesday, June 22.

If elected, Councillor Robinson would become the Borough’s first Lady Mayor since Molly Holmes who gave up the Mayoral chain in 1985 after a number of years of distinguished service to the community.
