Events planned to raise awareness of suicide prevention

A CHARITY football match is being organised this weekend by PIPS Larne to help promote suicide prevention.

The match is being held at The Cliff on Sunday, February 24 with kick-off at 1pm. Refreshments will be provided after the match.

Admission is £2 for adults, £1 for children and all are welcome.

It is hoped the game will become an annual event and engraver Norman McClay at Ramsey’s funeral directors, has donated a perpetual challenge cup

Meanwhile, the PIPS Larne family support group meeting will be held on the last Monday of the month as usual on Monday, February 25 at Unit 24 LEDCOM Industrial Estate, Bank Road, starting at 7.30pm.

The meeting is open to anyone over the age of 18 who has lost a loved one through suicide.

PIPS Larne is also offering free suicide-prevention training. This is a one-day course available on either March 5 or 19 at the Centre Point (the Larne NRC College campus site), 32-34 Pound Street from 9.30am to 4,30pm.
