Every little helps as £20k raised in one day for NICFC

£20,000 has been raised in Tesco stores across the province in one day for the NI Cancer Fund for Children.

Generous customers in 36 stores dug deep on May 5 to raise a total of £20,000.85.

The collection was made possible with the help of 300 volunteers donating their time.

All of the proceeds will go to the local charity which provides practical and emotional support to young people living with cancer and their families.

NICFC’s family and support groups fundraiser, Naomi Braithwaite, said she was delighted the collection was such a success.

“I would like to thank Tesco for this wonderful opportunity and for giving us permission to collect in so many stores on the one day” Naomi said. “Not only did this allow us to raise vital funds, but it also helped us raise the profile of the charity. A big thank you must also go to all of our wonderful volunteers for giving of their time to help collect and to the customers of Tesco for their incredible generosity.”

NI Cancer Fund for Children is urgently looking for volunteers to help out in a number of different ways such as supermarket bag-packs and street collections. If you have any time to spare contact Natasha Walsh on 9080 5599 or email [email protected]
