‘Every little helps’ as Tesco staff aid Diabetes UK!

Tesco Northern Ireland colleagues are celebrating raising an incredible £500,000 for Diabetes UK, since a partnership between the leading retailer and the charity started in March 2013.

The Coleraine store raised just over £14,000 and the Portstewart store almost £9,600 among the 50-plus Tesco stores in Northern Ireland.

The money raised is helping to extend the opening hours of Diabetes UK’s careline.

Alan Hanna, National Director for Diabetes UK Northern Ireland, said: “Tesco colleagues in Northern Ireland have shown amazing dedication and energy in supporting our partnership and we are hugely grateful for their brilliant fundraising efforts.”

Caoimhe Mannion, Marketing Manager with Tesco NI, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Tesco customers and colleagues have reached this landmark figure for Diabetes UK.

“Colleagues have been working incredibly hard to raise such a fantastic amount for this important cause. A very big thank you goes to our customers for supporting our efforts in aid of the charity.”
