Every time he was asked his details he said '˜what'

When police asked a man who was standing outside a house in Portadown in the early hours of the morning who he was he replied '˜who are you'.

And every time police asked him for his details he just answered ‘what’.

David Gordon (33), Grantham Park, Portadown, was fined £200 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for obstructing police on May 15 this year.

The court heard that at 1.10am police received a report of someone trying to get into a house at Ballybay Avenue.

When they arrived at the scene they saw the defendant standing at the door with his arms folded.

Police asked him who he was and he replied ‘who are you’ and when asked is he lived at the address he said he did not.

Gordon told police to ‘figure it out for themselves’ when he was asked for his details and on further occasions he replied ‘what’,

A solicitor representing Gordon said he had consumed a bottle of Buckfast and a litre of cider and went to a friend’s house, not realising it was so late.

He explained that the defendant rapped at the door a number of times and became embroiled with the police when they arrived.
