Ex-minister case adjourned

A FORMER Methodist minister charged with possessing and making an indecent photo of children has had his case further adjourned.

William Alan Macaulay (51) - a former chaplain to Magilligan Prison and youth sports coach - from Ballynacree Drive, Balnamore, appeared briefly before North Antrim Magistrates Court in Coleraine on Wednesday November 23.

He faces two charges - the first that between April 23, 2010 and November 10, 2010 he had in his possession an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of children, and the second that between the same dates he made an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of children.

The case was listed on court papers as a Preliminary Enquiry.

A lawyer for the Public Prosecution Service asked for the case to be adjourned to December 7.
