Exclusive: Protest over alleged brothel in Cookstown

Outraged residents took to a street in Cookstown at the weekend to protest against an alleged brothel in the area.

Police confirmed to the MAIL that a ‘peaceful protest’ took place outside a premises on Orritor Road in the town over the weekend.

Inspector Daniel Walsh said, “Police are aware that a protest took place outside premises in the Orritor Road area of Cookstown at the weekend.

“Police were in the area and monitored the situation.

“We acknowledge the right to protest in a lawful and peaceful manner.

“Police are sensitive to community concerns and will seek to work with all those concerned to help to find a resolution to this issue.”
