Wendy Osborne OBE, Chief Executive, Volunteer Now said: “There isn’t a city, town or village in Northern Ireland that doesn’t have volunteers. We hope that this exhibition which features individuals’ stories and captures the fun side of volunteering will inspire others to get involved.”

Minister for Social Development, Nelson McCausland in recognising the vital contribution volunteers make to society, spoke of his admiration and inspiration that he had seen from the work of volunteering throughout Northern Ireland. Minister McCausland said: “This event showcases the work of volunteering across Northern Ireland and is a fitting start to Volunteer’s Week. While I would encourage everyone to visit the exhibition as it makes its way across Northern Ireland I would further encourage everyone to follow the name of our Volunteering strategy ‘Join In, Get Involved: Build a Better Future’.”

There are currently over 3,000 volunteering opportunities available across Northern Ireland. To find out more visit: www.volunteenow.co.uk or call Volunteer Now’s Community Engagement Officers on 028 9023 2020.
