On Saturday, May 29 Sixmilewater Park will be the venue for a fantastic display of vehicles by the Ulster Military Vehicle Club and a war reenactment will be carried out by the Wartime Living History Association. The park will come alive with the sights and sounds of war machinery and personnel and it will be an experience not to be missed.

Lisa O’Kane, the Council’s Tourism and Events Manager said: “The last time the War Years Remembered exhibition came to Ballyclare, the town was buzzing and traders were delighted at the increased footfall in the town. It is great that the Town Centres Working Group and the Ballyclare May Fair Sub Committee have joined forces to bring this event to Ballyclare during the May Fair. We hope that the May Fair can become a major contributor to tourism in Newtownabbey and I would encourage everyone to pay a visit to the exhibition and the events in Sixmilewater Park to experience what life was like during the war years.”

May Fair programme information can be downloaded from the website - www.ballyclaremayfair.com. Programmes will also be available from Ballyclare Town Hall.

Further information is also available by calling Newtownabbey Council on 9034 0000 or by joining the Ballyclare May Fair Facebook Group - www.facebook.com.

Officials at Newtownabbey Borough Council have expressed their thanks to everyone who has helped organise or sponsor events at the May Fair this year.
