The South West SME 1st Time Exporters Programme aims to assist owner-managers of small businesses in the 5 council areas to explore and exploit business opportunities – in the Republic of Ireland and GB – in order to secure sustained growth.

Mary Gormley, Invest NI’s Western Regional Manager said: “Northern Ireland is a small market and in order to secure sustainable sales growth, local companies need to look to export markets for business opportunities.

“This programme offers participants access to the tools needed to make exporting a part of their business and I would encourage as many owner managers as possible to get involved.”

The Programme will involve a series of export-focused workshops, one to one export mentoring and export sales prospecting, all of which are geared towards helping participants to develop both the skills and the confidence to explore, identify and exploit new business opportunities in markets outside NI.

Simon Devlin of Full Circle declared:“Wave 1 of the Programme was a major success with a significant number of participants winning new contracts in Republic of Ireland and GB.

“As a result, new jobs have been both sustained and created.

Our whole focus during the Programme is on assisting business people who have little / no experience of doing business outside NI to move from talking about selling into ROI / GB to actually doing it.”
