Extensive damage to petrol bombed cars

Petrol bombs were thrown at two cars parked at Dalways Bawn Road, Carrickfergus, on Friday morning.

A grey Mini Cooper Countryman and a blue Ford Focus were extensively damaged in the 3.20am incident.

Appealing for information, Area Commander Chief Inspector Stephen Reid said: “ There are no reports of any injuries and the fire was dealt with by Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. Enquiries are continuing.

“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact police at Carrickfergus on the non emergency number 101.”

Information, he added, can also be given via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
