Translink say that the 1,000 miles each month cost drivers of petrol vehicles £228.20 while diesel vehicle drivers are slightly better off, with their monthly cost being £201.60.

Larne passengers can now also benefit from more frequent services on Translink’s flagship Larne – Belfast Goldline coach route.

The Goldline 256 service now operates every 15 minutes at peak times.

Sam Todd, Translink service delivery manager, Larne said: “Our Express 256 service between Larne and Belfast is extremely popular with both commuters and leisure passengers – up 8.7 per cent in the last year which is great news.

Passengers can also make great savings using Smartlink. Passengers travelling from Larne to Belfast can save up to £102.70 per month compared to travelling via private car.”
