Eyesore and danger to children removed from Corrody Road
SDLP Waterside Councillor Martin Reilly has welcomed the removal of an abandoned shipping container in Corrody Road, Gobnascale, which, he said, had posed a danger to children playing in the area.
He said: “A concerned grandmother had raised with me the dangers of this abandoned shipping container as children were playing around it and could get injured.
“It had also been graffitied and was an eyesore for residents in the area.
“I spoke to the Housing Executive as this container was on their land.
“Thankfully, due to their action, it has now been removed which will be welcomed by those living in the immediate vicinity.”
