Fairy tale role for local girl

AINE Haughian has her language skills to thank for landing a role in a BBC production.

The 11-year-old former St Francis pupil provided the voiceover for two episodes of CBBC's Telly Tales which are broadcast in Irish.

Aine attended the Bunscoil at St Francis and was one of 38 pupils from 12 Irish speaking schools selected to attend auditions for the Telly Scealta programme.

Having impressed at her audition Aine was chosen to do the voiceovers for Three Little Pigs and King Midas.

Aine, who now attends St Catherine's in Armagh, said: "I did the voiceovers for both programmes in one day. It was very tiring all in one day, but I enjoyed it. I'd like work in TV."

Aine, who loves singing and drama, has two brothers - Aodhan (6) and Odhran (3)

The King Midas episode of Telly Tales will be broadcast on Thursday, September 30, at 10.50am on BBC Two NI.
