Families invited to celebrate Drawing Day

COLERAINE Library is inviting children and their parents to take part in this year's National Drawing Day on Saturday, May 22, by taking part in a free Family Drop-In and Draw Afternoon.

National Drawing Day is an opportunity for adults and young people to draw together in an informal and enjoyable way organised by National Gallery Ireland, with many programmes taking place at venues throughout Ireland.

From 1.30pm – 4pm, parents and their children are invited to call into Coleraine Library and with free drawing materials provided, they will be able to enjoy some sketching during the afternoon.

The aim of 'Drawing Day' is to provide an opportunity for everyone to try their hand at drawing and while most people might shy away from drawing, the success of this national annual event proves that there is a genuine interest in the medium.

Valerie Nicholson, Adult Learning Services Manager, Libraries NI, says: “Coleraine Library urges you to grab that sketchpad and pencil and join in with this fun parent and child event”.

Please contact Coleraine Library (Queen Street) on telephone number 028 7034 2561 or email [email protected] to register your interest in attending this event.
