Family advice service praised

ULSTER Unionist Mid-Ulster MLA Sandra Overend, has delighted in the success of the Family Benefits Workshop held in her constituency office on Friday September 7, in conjunction with Employers for Childcare.

Sandra, who is the Ulster Unionist Spokesperson for Children and Young People, said: “I was delighted to work in conjunction with Employers For Childcare, to host a Family Benefits Advisory Workshop, in my Moneymore constituency office, on Friday September 7, and was pleased that we were able to help those who attended.

“Employers for Childcare are a fantastic organisation that provides a valuable service for the people of Northern Ireland by offering advice and assistance for parents, with dependents, to get into, and stay in, work.

“The Family Benefits Advisory Service workshop that I hosted in conjunction with Employers For Childcare, served to offer guidance and advice on a range of issues, such as Tax Credits; Social Security benefits; Childcare Vouchers; Free School Meals; School Uniform Allowances etc. to constituents across Mid-Ulster.

“The workshop received very positive feedback and presented some valuable insights to parents who are in work, to those considering returning to work and also to those re-evaluating their career options. Respondents claimed that the Workshop helped them to better understand the family savings available to their individual circumstances and particularly welcomed the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from Employers for Childcare.

“As a working mother myself I fully understand the importance of such advice and would encourage anyone with any queries about Childcare Vouchers, or other related childcare costs, to contact my Constituency office on 028 8674 8090 and we will help you establish links with Employers For Childcare.”
