Family entertainment in store at Airshow

AS well as a full programme of aerial displays spectators will also be treated to an array of family entertainment and ground based activities.

Children can attend the popular Crazy Bears Roadshow, the ‘bears’ are eagerly preparing for their return trip to Portrush to wow the young audience at the Airshow.

Children’s rides, a climbing wall, a Red Arrows simulator, Eurofighter cockpit, craft stalls, nail art and face painting will ensure the young and young at heart are well catered for.

Paul Gallagher from the Events Team at Coleraine Borough Council, said: “West Bay will be filled with ground activities, trade stalls and exhibitions over the Airshow weekend. The show will also host the unique Royal Marine Commando’s display team who will perform a spectacular beach landing, with unarmed combat displays on the shores of West Bay.

“A poignant Remembrance Parade and Poppy Drop on Sunday afternoon will mark the seventieth anniversary of the Battle of Britain, whilst the War Time Living History Association will provide a war exhibition, commemorating life around the time of the British and German Air fight.

“Finally, I would encourage visitors and residents to come to the show early to avoid missing any attractions or displays.”
