Family history joins long list of U3A opportunities

THE latest meeting of the East Antrim U3A (University of the Third Age) was the ideal opportunity for members to learn more about the many activities on offer in the area.

The group welcomes all those who have finished full-time employment and who wish to keep body and mind active. It meets each month on the third Monday in Joymount Presbyterian Church hall, Carrick and attracts members from across the Larne, Carrick and Newtownabbey areas.

At the last meeting, chairman David Nesbitt introduced various group leaders who, in turn, gave their up-to-date account of activities and outings enjoyed by members. These included bridge improvers, book club, computers, Gadabouts, gardening (hands on and visiting formal gardens), music, opera, theatre, visual arts and walking.
