Family values

“FAMILY values” are to be reinforced in the borough with Lottery funding.

Carrickfergus YMCA has secured £5,389 to run two programmes that will prepare young people for the pressures of teenage life.

The Strengthening Families programme will offer support for families with children aged 10-14, while the group will also run a mental health and suicide awareness programme for the young people involved.

“We want to help families work together to overcome problems commonly faced by teenagers,” explained Bob Loade, general secretary of Carrickfergus YMCA.
