Darcy’s owner had left the pooch at her brother’s home in the Knockmoyle/ Lomond Heights area to be looked after, when she escaped.

Concerned for her shy dog, who was unfamiliar with the Gemma kicked off a missing appeal that involved posts on Facebook, contacting the Mail and distributing missing flyers.

And the little dog was found.

“Thanks to everyone who helped out in any way, we all couldn’t be happier to have her home safe and well,” said owner Gemma.

“We posted leaflets and a man rang on Sunday, he found her hiding in his back garden.

“We are so happy and relieved. Thanks for your help.”
