Fancy going to an ‘unusual’ auction at St Patrick’s?

On Thursday 29th May, St Patrick’s Parish Church, Ballymoney are holding an unusual auction to raise money for the refurbishment of the Old School House.

The auction will start at 7.30 pm, with the doors opening at 6pm. Admission charge is £2 per adult with children free.

The auction is unusual in that they not only have the usual sale of items but also the sale of ‘Promises’ donated by members of the congregation and ‘Behind The Scenes’ visits to firms and organisations. Included in the items they currently have are promises of flowers; flower arranging; bags of logs/ turf; the use of a cottage and a whiskey tasting in Bushmills; the use of an apartment overlooking the bay in Portrush; hair dos; facials; teeth whitening; massages; housework; ironing; gardening; wood turning instruction, babysitting; a dinner party for eight; a meal out for four; a studio photograph by a top portrait photographer; an ice cream treat; Sunday lunch at the Ballygally Castle Hotel; visits to Ravenhill and Lynas Foods; four ball golf at Ballycastle; a two hour boat trip on the Bann; a M & S Hamper; six dozen meringues; three salads and puddings for a BBQ; a homemade Christmas cake, shortbread and mince pies; piano lessons; a photo portrait, a PC tune up and service, a guided walk in the Mournes; a boiler service and a car service.

Items to be auctioned include: old tools; crystal; metalwork; woodwork; paintings; prints; old International, NI and GB football and rugby programs; small items of furniture; models of railway locomotives; silverware; metal and ceramic plant pot holders; model boats, crockery, a flat screen TV, soft furnishings and pottery.

Behind the scenes visits to: Coleraine Football Club; Creagh Concrete; Hutchinson Engineering; JMF Fabrications; Belfast City Airport; the Royal Mail Sorting Centre at Mallusk; PSNI Ballymoney; the RUC Memorial Garden and Downtown Radio/ Cool FM.
