Several fans of the 28 year-old stand-up comedian told the Derry Journal they felt staff at the Millennium Forum could have handled the situation better whilst others were critical of the way in which Bridges addressed the issue.

According to fans, the incident stemmed from one woman who relentlessly heckled Bridges from the beginning of the show.

It is believed the woman was not successfully removed from the auditorium immediately which allowed her to berate Bridges who subsequently walked off stage.

The ‘Journal’ understands the woman was eventually asked to leave by Millennium Forum staff.

David McLaughlin, Chief Executive of the Millennium Forum confirmed what happened to the ‘Journal’ and described the incident as “disappointing”.

“We appreciate patrons’ respect for each other and the artist on stage and it was disappointing that one member of the audience did not extend this courtesy on Friday evening. We take all feedback on board and work hard to ensure all our patrons and performers enjoy their experience at our venue,” he said.

Bridges started his five night stint in Derry and will take to the stage in the Millennium Forum again on Monday and Tuesday evening.

The ‘Journal’ contacted Kevin Bridges’ management company for a comment but at the time of publishing we had not received a reply.
