Fantastic beats need a loving home as Dog's Trust make an appeal

The five 12-week-old Border Collie pups handed in to Dogs Trust Ballymena, when their owners were sadly no longer able to care for them, have been named after characters in JK Rowling’s ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ in the hope they will charm potential owners and find their forever homes.

Just like the fantastic creatures in the hit film, the five pups, Newt, Gellert, Seraphina, Picquery and Mary Lou all require a special home where their new families can further train and build their confidence.

Oonagh Philips, Rehoming Centre Manager for Dogs Trust Ballymena, said: “Border Collies are very intelligent and need to be kept physically and mentally active, so potential owners should be willing to give them lots of opportunities to learn new things and enjoy plenty of exercise.

“They are absolutely gorgeous and will make great companions for the right families. It is very common for families to get a pet without giving due consideration to the lifelong commitment involved , so we ask that all families think seriously about this before making the decision and visit our website for advice.”
