Fantastic entertainment at Coleraine Town Hall this Saturday

COLERAINE Borough Council, in association with Kilcranny House is delighted to announce plans for the second Coleraine Multi-Cultural Showcase event.

The family-friendly, open-day - at Coleraine Town Hall, on Saturday, March 13 from 12 noon - will feature a wide array of traditional ethnic dance, music and crafts highlighting the cultural diversity which exists in the borough.

Keen to build on last year’s success, organisers have created an exciting and innovative programme designed to cater to all age groups and sections of the community.

This year’s line-up includes an energetic performance from the Dominic Graham School of Dancing, colourful and exotic Bollywood dancers, a dramatic performance by Argentinean dancers and traditional Egyptian dance. It also includes salsa dancers, Ulster Scots dance and Chinese lion dance

Fusion band will provide live music on the day and local Polish children from Coleraine’s Polish Saturday School will entertain the audience with their traditional songs.

If all that isn’t enough, craft stalls will provide an opportunity for visitors to indulge in a little retail therapy whilst experiencing the creation of traditional arts, such as origami and piata.There is will also be a raffle draw, which is free to enter and offers superb prizes to be won.

Mayor of Coleraine, Cllr Sandy Gilkinson, said; “This event provides a unique opportunity for all communities to come together to celebrate their diverse backgrounds and learn and appreciate the backgrounds of others.

Following such an energetic afternoon, there will be an opportunity to catch your breathe and have a chat over a delicious buffet and refreshments free for visitors and participants.
