Far-travelled Mossmen take to seas

MEMBERS of Kings Moss Cycling Club have enjoyed some far-flung cycling recently, with riders taking part in a number of rides including a legendary sportive in Belgium.

Two Mossmen joined 17,000 other riders from across Europe for the Tour of Flanders event on Saturday, April 3. The Sunday also saw members take to the seas - but in a much smaller way - with a club run from Ballyearl to Strangford and Portaferry using the short ferry service.

Club runs were also held on Thursday, April 8 - a short mid-week run - and on Saturday, giving plenty of opportunities for members of all abilities to get involved.

Meanwhile, Kings Moss members are also working hard to make sure the May Fair Challenge on Saturday, May 29, which features a 100k cycle or a 20k cycle and will welcome endurance legend Joe Barr as guest of honour, is as enjoyable as possible for everyone taking part.

The event will leave Ballyclare at 10am and is being held in aid of the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children. Further details can be found online at www.kingsmosscyclingclub.co.uk.

As the number of entries available is limited, anyone planning to take part should register in advance using www.entrycentral.com.

l Anyone interested in joining KMCC, sponsored by Greenacres Golf Centre, is welcome to come along to one of the Sunday morning rides, which leave The Square, Ballyclare at 10am.
