Farm house decision deferral

PLANNERS will take more time to consider an outline application for a proposed farm dwelling with detached garage at Lisles Hill Road, Glenarm.

There were no objections to the application lodged by Mr and Mrs John Mellan, but County Hall informed Larne Borough Council’s public services committee that the intention was to refuse because officials considered that a case had not been established for exceptional need for the site, which was “not visually linked or sited to cluster with an established group of buildings on the farm”.

On the proposal of Cllr Maureen Morrow, seconded by Ald Roy Beggs, Planning Service agreed to defer issuing a decision pending an office meeting.
