Farm re-opening delayed

TANNAGHMORE Animal Farm's re-opening is now scheduled for mid-March whilst it undergoes substantial renovations - Tannaghmore Gardens and playpark remain open.

The Craigavon Borough Council run farm closed temporarily from September to allow an upgrade work. In addition a block of four brand new toilets is being built close to the animal farm.

The Council was able to secure a 37,500 grant from the Southern Organisation for Action in Rural areas (SOAR), which is being used to help fund the estimated 100,000+ refurbishments. However, procurement issues with the tender has had a knock-on effect on the finish date of the refurbishment.

Realistically Tannaghmore animal farm will be closed until mid-March. Council is writing to the schools to advise of the extended closure as well as on the Council website and information notices in Council facilities.

The animals are being well cared for by Council staff. When the farm reopens in March it is hoped there will be plenty of new additions to the Farm including a number of new Irish Moiled and Dexter calves born in December and early January.
