Farmer sentenced at Coleraine Court

A County Londonderry farmer was sentenced at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Friday in respect of one charge of causing unnecessary suffering to a Limousin bull, and one charge of failing to attach an approved ear tag to the bull.

John McCormack, of Bridge Street, Kilrea, was given a four month custodial sentence suspended for two years plus £22 costs.

He had previously pleaded guilty to the charges. This case arose from an anonymous call by a member of the public to a Divisional Veterinary Office.
