Farming courses offered

A Carrick councillor has urged farmers in the borough to engage with a series of workshop classes organised by the Countryside Agri-Rural Partnership.

Councillor Andrew Wilson said: “The courses are free to farmers and their families; there is a fast track IT course that will give advice on managing farm records online. Enhanced IT skills will also allow for easier access to information relating to CAP reform and Single Farm Payments via the internet.

“The other course is called Stop and Think, FarmSafe Awareness, and it looks at safety in relation to slurry, animals, falls and equipment.”
