Fashions of yesteryear in Dunmurry

WAR on Want NI will be staging a display of period costumes in Dunmurry next month.

The charity has a very talented team of volunteers who mend and maintain period costumes and clothes that come into stores across Northern Ireland. In addition these ladies travel all over the island of Ireland putting on period Fashion Shows to display these wonderful outfits from yesteryear, while raising much needed funds for War on Want NI.

On Thursday, November 15,they will be exhibiting a selection from this wonderful original collection of fashions from the 1840s to the 1930s, through a special fashion show in the Beechlawn House Hotel, Dunmurry from 7pm-10pm. Tickets: £15

Prior to the show, there will be fashion stalls and accessories with many bargains to be had from a selection of stock from 13 charity shops.

The fashion extravaganza will raise much needed funds to support sustainable projects in Sub Saharan Africa, helping the poorest and most vulnerable people in poor communities to find last solutions to poverty.

Head of Fundraising, Jackie Trainor describes the event as “a great evening out with the girls, or better still a perfect occasion to treat your mum or granny to a special, fun night out.”
