Fatal crash on Doagh Road

A man in his twenties has died as a result of a road collision at Doagh Road, Ballyclare at around 1.30am this morning.

Two other men who were also in the vehicle have been taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

After the incident the road was closed between Ballyclare Cemetery and Doagh Village. It has since reopened.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

SDLP Councillor Noreen McClelland has expressed her sympathy following the incident. She commented: “This is heart-breaking news, and my thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family at this tragic time.

“My thoughts are also with the two men who were also in the car at the time. I hope they make a full recovery.”
