Father Christmas banks with us!

THERE was much excitement in Ballymoney on Monday morning when Santa Claus zoomed into town on an ex-racing Yamaha.

He parked up at Council Headquarters to meet the Manager’s from Ulster Bank, Bank of Ireland Northern Bank and First Trust Bank who have joined forces to fund Santa’s visits from Lapland to Ballymoney this Christmas for the big switch on at the High Street stage on Thursday 24th November.

If there is a good tailwind Santa is scheduled to arrive at 7.00pm and after a hot cuppa with Ballymoney Mayor, Ian Stevenson, and the Town’s Chamber President, Mrs Winnifred Mellett, he will be on stage at 7.25 pm.

He has heard that there is a lot of excellent local talent live on stage and has revealed that he is up for a sing-along of his favorite Christmas songs, after which he will give out some treets to the boys and girls.

In his visits round the globe on the run up to Christmas Santa will also stop off at a special “home from home” bench in Cassells Toy Store, Ballymoney to meet local children.

Before leaving town Santa picked up “must have” gifts from the range of unique shops the town has to offer and visited one of the cozy cafes for “a large cappunino, sprinkled with cinnamon”.

Speaking exclusively to the local newspaper Editors today Santa said:

“Ballymoney is a great town, it has lots of shops I have not seen anywhere else.  I really enjoyed my visit to Ballymoney last year, the Christmas lights were brilliant, the townspeople made me very welcome, there is a great team spirit and everyone was very friendly. I will be looking to pick up some wonderful presents from toy shops, stylish boutiques and unique gift shops when I pop into Ballymoney in the run up to Christmas.  I am sure I will get all I need in Ballymoney this Christmas”.

Santa’s message to the people of Ballymoney –

“Stay Local, Shop Local and enjoy your Town This Christmas”
