The recipient has led a variety of Rotary service teams since becoming a member of the Carrickfergus club in 1998 but his Paul Harris Fellowship was particularly recognising his unstinting work in the area of youth activities.

Jim has headed up the Rotary Youth Leadership competition over many years and launched and developed the Rotary Young Writers’ competition.

He has also been instrumental in setting up two Rotary Interact clubs in the town and is planning to introduce the Rotary Young Musician and Rotary Young Chef competitions, providing further opportunities for young people in the Carrickfergus area.
