Female police officer punched in the face during arrest

A FEMALE police officer was punched in the face during an arrest of four men on suspicion of burglary near Hillsborough on Wednesday night.

Officers were alerted to the burglary in progress at a property on Moira Road at 7.11pm.

When police arrived at the property at 7.20pm they detained three men.

A fourth man who made off when the police arrived was pursued on foot by one of the responding officers. He was subsequently arrested a short distance away.

All four males aged 57, 27, 21 and 18 remain in custody in Lisburn assisting police with their enquiries.
