Festival praise for BEM winner
The Committee & members of Ballymena Festival of Music Speech & Dance have congratulated their President, Irene Cumming on being awarded the B.E.M in the Queen’s New Years Honours .
A spokesperson said: “This is taken not only to be in recognition of Irene’s involvement in promoting the Arts in the Ballymena area, but also the high esteem in which the Festival is held in Ballymena area and throughout N Ireland.
“Irene, who last year received the Federations Award for long service, is a very “hands on” President. This is evidenced during the annual Festival through her attendance at all the various competitions but especially by her personal involvement in the Speech & Drama Competition.
