Festive fun and late nights in the Toon

Ballymoney’s new Christmas lights are amazing.

That’s the message that local traders are getting from visitors to the town who have been drawn in the evenings to view the magnificient display at its best.

The town team has organised additional entertainment in town during on two late nights to get everyone into the festive spirit.

The town will be open on two late nights until 9pm, Friday 20th late night shoppers will be entertained by Espresso Jazz and on Monday 23rd there’s Music and Craic from fUSe fm entertaining you while you shop.

Christmas characters and the Big Man himself will be on hand to join in the fun and there will be some spot prizes. The resident DJ at the Diamond provides festive music from 2.30 – 4.30 p.m. each Saturday with Songs from the Shows on 14th December and Christmas Music from Disney on 21st.

Santa and his Christmas Characters will be out and about.

There’s kids movie mornings at the Town Hall, with Polar Express on 14th December at 11 a.m. and Muppets Christmas Carol on 21st at 11 am.

Community Drama

A new community drama group, The Ullans Players, takes to the Town Hall stage on 16th December with an Ulster Scots take on Charles Dickens tale of the cold hearted, tight fisted greedy man’s redemption by three ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. Curtain up is 7 p.m.

The production comes hot on the heels of the players inaugural and memorable Halloween production of the Ballad of Bloody Hutchinson.

Tickets are on sale at the Town Hall and advance booking is advisable.

Shop Local

The town’s Shop Local and WIN promotion is in full swing, with two lucky winners every week getting £100 of vouchers each since 22nd November.

There is still time to shop in participating stores and win.

On the last week 19th December three shoppers will each win £100.
