Festive ‘Little Day Out’ at First Carrick

First Carrickfergus Presbyterian Church is inviting local residents to take part in a special festive event next month.

The ‘Little Day Out at Christmas’ is geared towards children aged 0-4, but is open to the whole community.

The event will incorporate singing, crafts and a range of activities.

“We’re hoping to have about 100 children involved,” said Lynda McFaul, deaconess at the North Street church.

“It’s part of our outreach so its open for the whole community to attend, not just those who go to church.”

The Little Day Out follows the success of a similar venture last year at Ballyclare Presbyterian, Lynda added.

It will run from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday, December 1 at the war Memorial Halls on Lancasterian Street.

Admission to the event will be £3 per child and £1 per adult.

Meanwhile, the ‘Messy Church’ initiative kicked off at North Street at the end of September.

The scheme, which includes crafts, Bible stories, games, and a family meal together, will run on a monthly basis until May.

It is suited towards pre-school and primary school-age children.
