Fewer than ten sleeping on streets

HOUSING Minister Margaret Ritchie says her department's figures estimate there are fewer than ten people sleeping on the streets in Londonderry on any given night.

Asked by way of a written question at the Stormont Assembly how many people are currently deemed to be homeless and sleeping on the street she stated: "On average there are fewer than 10 people on any given night in Belfast and Derry who are deemed to be homeless and sleeping on the streets. There are no reports of people being homeless and sleeping on the streets elsewhere."
