Fight for Pinewood continues - Frew

Local MLA Paul Frew has commended the hard work of Margaret Wallace (pictured) and others campaigning for the retention of Pinewood Care Home.

Mr Frew was speaking about the issue whilst assisting campaigners who had organised a recent wo-day awareness event in Ballymena town centre.

He said: “We got a very good response on the streets and it was great to speak to people and update them on the work up to this point.

“I have had meeting with Paul Cummings and Mary Hinds, new leaders of the Northern Trust. I have also met with Fionnuala McAndrew who has been tasked with moving forward the consultation around residential care homes.

“On all those occasions I have stressed the importance of Pinewood, not only because of residential care but also around respite care and rehab. The fight to retain Pinewood continues,” said Mr Frew.
