Final farewell for local haulier

In what has been described as arguably the largest funeral ever witnessed at First Dromore Presbyterian Church, family and friends gathered last week in tribute to local haulier William Carl (Will) Sloan, who died after a shock accident on December 19.

Well known throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and beyond, Mr Sloan, of Sloan Transport, is understood to have taken a fall while working with a lorry .

Police, who received a report of Mr Sloan’s subsequent death at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital, confirmed they were not treating his death as suspicious.
