Financial boost for local groups from Council’s festival fund

A host of clubs and associations in the Banbridge area are to get a financial boost from the council’s Community Festival Fund.

Thousands of pounds of funding have been allocated to local groups to allow them to host events during the year.

Banbridge Old Vehicle Club were granted £700 for the Banbridge Classic Vehicle Cavalcade on Friday June 6.

Rathfriland Vintage Club will receive £420 for their rally in September and Liatroim Fontenoys were awarded £2,500 for the Leitrim Festival in August.

An award of £2,500 was made to Moneyslane Rural Hub for the official opening of a community hub in August and Banbridge Motor Club received £1580 for the Banbridge Motor Show.

Rathfriland Football Club will be awarded £500 for a John Ingram Memorial Fun Day, Loughbrickland and District Rural Development Fund were awarded £1,500 for a firework display, NI Carriage Driving Association were granted £1.092 for their championships in August and Rathfriland Clay Pigeon Club will receive £400 for their Commonwealth Baton Tour.
