Find hope if you are stranded

THERE are so many stories to hear about people who have been forced to extend their 'holiday' due to the 'ash'... mostly good accounts of fortitude and helpfulness but some of being ripped off by people wanting to make a quick buck!

There was an interesting story about a school party of 49 who came home by coach 1,800 miles all the way from the island of Sicily. It took fifty-two hours travelling by coach and the ferry from Sicily to Italy, then another coach to Siena, another coach to France, and finally the ferry to England.

Why were they in Sicily? They were studying and learning about volcanoes!

Sharing stories is a major part of life. We learn from each others joys, hurts, healings. It all makes up the lovely tapestry of life.

In the spiritual sense sharing of our experiences of God at work in our lives is extremely important. How can we learn from others if we don’t hear? In the Old Testament it was important to hand on from generation to generation the truth and importance of Gods laws.

There is a lovely verse in Psalm 25 [21] which says “May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you.”

Hope is the kingpin to dignity in life. If you were stranded you constantly had hope that you would get a flight or another alternative way home.

You may be stranded in your life at a full stop, not knowing which way to go Romans 15 v 13 says ”May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him."
